Idaho River Buddies

Idaho River Buddies was established in 2011 by a group of fly fishing guides in Idaho and is now operated as a Small 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization . This program provides underprivileged youth the opportunity to learn to fly fish from a professional fly fishing guide and receive all the necessary equipment to pursue fly fishing at home. Idaho River Buddies has sustained its annual event since its inception in 2011. River Buddies 2025 will mark 15 years of impact with its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment through fly fishing.
Every community faces challenges similar to those in the Upper Snake River Valley; the hope is that initiatives like Idaho River Buddies can create opportunities for kids everywhere. All it takes is a fly rod and a mentor to show a young person how to use it, which can lead to transformative results in their lives.
The Idaho River Buddies program continues to grow, thanks to the support of donations and sponsors. Contributions are essential, as all donations directly fund the equipment provided to these young anglers and 100% of the donations and contributions are directed back into the program.
